Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home having a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every nsfas status annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. nsfas 2025 They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
